Do I need a roof repair or a full replacement?
It depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the damage is. A few missing shingles or an isolated leak is usually a repair. Widespread storm damage or an aging roof near the end of its life is usually a replacement. We will give you an honest recommendation after a free inspection.
How much does a new roof cost in Mason City?

When is the best time of year to replace a roof in Iowa?
We replace roofs year round, and late summer through fall is ideal for scheduling. That said, storm and leak repairs cannot wait, so we handle urgent damage as soon as possible.

Do you work on flat and low-slope commercial roofs?
Yes. Flat and low-slope roofs are the core of our commercial work. We repair and replace EPDM rubber roofs and other low-slope systems on businesses, churches, and multi-family buildings across North Iowa and Southern Minnesota.
How do I know if my commercial roof needs repair or replacement?
It depends on the age of the roof, how widespread the damage is, and whether water has reached the insulation or deck. After we inspect it, we’ll tell you honestly whether a repair will buy you meaningful time or whether replacement is the better investment.
What should I do after a hail or wind storm?
Have the roof inspected, even if you don’t see a leak yet. Hail and wind can loosen seams and flashing on a flat roof without any sign from inside the building. We’ll check it and let you know what, if anything, needs repair.
Do you repair siding or only replace it?
We do both. If damage is limited to a few panels or one side of your home, a repair is often all you need. If damage is widespread, panels are brittle or badly faded, or moisture has gotten behind the siding, replacement is usually the better long-term choice. After an inspection, we’ll explain what we found and recommend the option that makes the most sense.
How do I know if my siding has storm damage?
Walk around your home after a storm and look for cracked or holed vinyl, dents in steel panels, loose or missing pieces, and exposed house wrap. Check the side of your home that faced the wind first. Some damage is hard to see from the ground, so if you suspect anything, schedule a storm damage inspection. We’ll check your siding, roof, and gutters together.
Are you licensed to do roofing work in Minnesota?
Yes. Young Construction is a licensed contractor in Minnesota under License #BC723271. We’re also licensed in Iowa (#C120008), which allows us to serve homeowners on both sides of the state line from our Albert Lea and Mason City offices.
Do you offer both roof repairs and replacements?
Yes. We handle everything from small repairs, like replacing missing shingles or fixing leaks, to full roof replacements. After inspecting your roof, we’ll explain whether a repair will solve the problem or whether replacement is the better long-term investment, and we’ll provide a detailed estimate either way.
